This Festive Season
Its that time of year again..
Time to reflect on the year that was. Time to celebrate Family and Friends, Time to consider the blessing we have and the love that we share with one and another.
2020.. The year of loneliness, heartbreak & confinement
A year we have felt the stresses and weight of life.
Its the year we stopped hearing airplanes fly through the sky, exercise sessions had a time allocation and the supermarket our only outing. The year parents became teachers, coaches and best friends to our children. We spent time chasing basic supplies and medications, and we desperately tried to keep our mental health in check. We brought life into the world, yet we weren’t able to share our new additions with our families, We lost the ones we loved most and we grieved alone, without the privilege of honouring their life as we would have wished. We bore the financial stress of business closures and juggled the complications of working from home with the distractions of family life.
To put it simply 2020 has been Hard… Really hard!
But we’ve come out stronger. We have learnt. We now know what is important. We have reset!
The very thing we’ve needed as a community.
We were given time.. Time to stop and slow down. Time with our families at home. Time for those long deep and meaningful conversations, time to contemplate what is important, time to
kick a soccer ball in the backyard or read stories with our children. We had time to eat together, sing together, argue, cry, laugh, be crazy, silly and fun.
We had time to build closer and stronger relationships.
We had time to Breath!
Now… We are back on the treadmill of life, yet we have had a reset and we remember what is important and where our values lie.
We are feeling ambitious and hungry for life and ready to kick personal bests and new goals. We’ve seen how fragile life is and we are eager the make the most of it!
Lets enjoy our holiday season, say Yes to the end of year breakups, the summer dinner parties, the Christmas light displays, the street party parades, the pool parties, the road trips, the sitting doing nothing, the relaxing by the beach, the books that are waiting to be read, Say Yes to being in love with the loud celebrations, the spontaneous decisions and the quiet sleepy afternoons all of which come with the festive season!
Here’s to 2021!
Lets make it our best year yet and be ready to learn from whatever is thrown our way!
Enjoy
